Eh up, just thought I'd post the last army list I used.

It is a 1750pt ork list (1749) that I used against space wolves. Didn't have a clue what I'd be facing but took precautions against a possible landraider and a few transport poppers and then prayed for no thunder wolves.

My first game this year :O and I've only just noticed now I'm writing this that I completely forgot to use my boss poles :/

Turned out I didn't have to fear thunderwolves or a landraider and won a thoroughly enjoyable game of capture and control (2bo's to nil). Turns 1 and 2 looked like I'd steamroll, turns 4 and 5 evened the odds for Dan but turn 5 clinched the win. A further 1 or 2 game turns and I could have easily lost if not drawn. Had deployment been different I reckon he could have schooled me Very Happy

battlewagon and trukk boyz sped towards his objective at break neck speed whilst the rest castled my home objective, by t2 I was on his objective and on turn 4, Snikrot and his kommandos turned up just in time to stop a counter attack. Meanwhile my lootas succeeded in slowing his advance on my objective long enough to put some hurt down.... boomwagonz mostly rolled 1's for don't press dat but 1 good shot decimated a squad of grey hunters, killing a rune priest in the process, who were on route to liberate his objective.

Anyway, here are da boyz;

Warboss - power klaw, cybork body, shoota

Big Mek - kustom force field, slugga, choppa

5 Nobz - 2 power klaws, boss pole, waaagh banner, painboy, cybork bodies
Battlewagon - deffrolla, big shoota, red paint job

30 Shoota boyz - 3 big shootas, Nob, power klaw, boss pole

12 Slugga boyz - Nob, power klaw, boss pole
Trukk - big shoota, reinforced ram

12 Slugga boyz - Nob, power klaw, boss pole
Trukk - big shoota, reinforced ram

5 Lootas

5 Lootas

12 Kommandos - 2 burners
Boss Snikrot

Deffkopta - twinlinked rokkit launcha, buzzsaw

Looted wagon - boomgun, big shoota

Looted wagon - boomgun, big shoota

......think that's everything....

Looks like a good list to me.

I'd bung everything into battlewagons to overload the opponents ability to take out armour 14 but thats just me. I tend to spam something for the entire army, bikes, battlewagons etc.

Your list scares me (to play it, not play against it) because there's too many different types of target to be singled out and killed with weapons meant for killing those things.

Don't forget the boss poles, they're a life saver for orks Razz

Did your deffcopta do any good? I avoid them like the plague because they're so squishy.

I do see the advantages in target saturation but I'm a sucker for variety and the flexibility that comes along with it.

Can't beat changing 'Da Plan' for 'Da Betta Plan' mid battle Smile

[that, and I need to convince She Who Must Not Be Named that £80 for 2 more BW's is a good investment XD ]

Pretty much all armies have the capabilities to take out any target. My defense lies in cover... and using it to the best of my advantage and the rest of my army is built for offense. Crack open transports with one squad, eat the contents with another whist my ranged unit silence [if not destroy] enemy artillery etc.

I find the solution is in target denial than giving them too much to shoot at too... I think synergy is the word I'm looking for.

Orks with logic, eh? What next? Wink
