I think that 1/2 size would fit it on without scrolling and should not reduce quality.

I realy like the use of blue and red, very prusian.

Have you had a go at adjusting the white balance on some of your pics to lighten them up a bit? Here is a shot of your last pic with the white balance auto adjusted and re sized to 800 by 600.
