Personally over time I have tried several rules for the period. After many various sets I found Principles of War most suitable for me. In recently years there have been a few new sets released and friends have started to use Black Powder.
So what are the thoughts of everyone out there in the ether?

I use General de brigade, a decent set of rules that comes across as a little complicated, but are fairly simple as anyone who can form a regt or bn in to line will tell you and very tactical due to the orders phase

Perhaps I should take another look at General DeBrigade. I remember looking at them a few years back but was put off as they did appear complex.

That's pretty much what happened with me. I started reading and my brain blew a gasket. I have come back to the rules and on rereading them have found them to be a bit easier on the eyes and brain. If you have played napolenoics before then much of it is just getting the rulesets particular way of doing movement, firing etc. Much of it is fairly basic and its the order system that causes much of the problems I feel as it adds a level that's not normally there and does make a few restrictions that I think can be off putting.
